The town of Colesberg was established in 1830 by the Governor of Cape Colony.

Colesberg is a small town of 4200 inhabitants located in the Northern Cape Province.

The city lies on the main road between M1 Johannesburg (6h30-hour drive and 629 km away) and Cape Town (777 km away and 10-hour drive), the easternmost province in the Pixley ka Seme district.

The main language spoken at Colesberg is the Afrikaans (91.4%), followed by Xhosa and English.

The architecture of the city is a mixture between the Dutch and Georgian architecture.

The economy is mainly based on Colesberg raising horses and sheep.

From October to March :
This is the southern summer, temperatures can reach 35°C day and rise to 10°C overnight.
But in general the daytime temperature does not exceed 30°c.

From April to September :
