Aus is a small village of 300 inhabitants located in the mountains above the plains of the Namib Desert in southern Namibia, in the Karas region.
This village is mainly inhabited by the people Nama live in the kennel and agriculture.
The village is small but has a number of amenities including a hotel, police station, workshop and garage.

The village of Aus is on the road between Keetmanshoop B4 (230km) to Luderitz (125km).
It can also be accessed through the line of railway Namibia (Keetmanshoop - Lüderitz).
A little history ...
During the First World War, the German chapter deal with South African troops.
Aus and has become a prison camp for German military officers.
More than 1,550 German prisoners were détenuent until the camp closed in 1919, and the population of the city was reinforced by some 600 guards in South Africa.
